Northfield 2006 Home Creek - Pinot Noir
"One of the more floral pinots you are likely to encounter, the Northfield Home Creek is an exemplary expression of this grape variety as it is produced in the New World. Intense aromas of violets and spice are followed on the palate by a rich, deep raspberry-blackberry fruited nuance, and high-toned strawberry. Well balanced (only 13.4 percent alcohol), with depth, complexity and a sensuous finish."

Waipara Downs Pinot Noir 2007
"This big, voluptuous Pinot is further testament that Waipara can not only hold its own as a premium Pinot growing district, but can lead the way and indeed may be this variety's future home in NZ. Grown on the limestone-rich slopes by this small family-owned winery this rich, sensuous wine is deep, boldly-coloured with big lush plum and vanilla aromas and on the palate shows a wonderful balance of sweet primary dark fruit, oak, tannin and alcohol complemented with mineral acidity. A warm, vibrant, well-structured Pinot Noir."

Bascand Estate Riesling 2007
"No NZ Riesling selection would be complete without a Waipara example. This new winery has produced a wonderfully-aromatic wine typical of the Waipara region - there's loads of intense green apple, lemon and lime on the nose and palate where the natural sweetness and lively now there's much promise of future rewards as it develops and unfolds in the bottle".

Bascand Estate Riesling 2007
“Made from a single vineyard in Waipara. The fruit was hand-harvested and gently crushed to avoid excessive green flavours. Aromatic yeast strains were used to maximise fruit flavour. How could you not like this wine? It’s bloody delicious. Carrying it’s 15gms of residual sugar with consummate ease. A tiny amount of residual carbon dioxide adds extra freshness and zip to the palate, which has intense flavours of lemon, lime and green apple. This is a very aromatic wine with an off-dry to medium-dry finish. GOLD medal winner at the 2007 Bragato Wine awards and 10/10 on our gulpable rating!”

Northfield 2007 Riesling (Waipara Valley)
"Waipara is becoming better known for its Rieslings. Thanks to wines like this one. Bold pineapple and kumquat aromas and flavors come across as broad and off- dry without being flabby or fat, then end with a flourish of baking spices and a hint of cracked pepper."

Northfield 2007 Frog Rock - Chardonnay
"One of the best-kept secrets of New Zealand wine is the exceptional potential of the Chardonnay grape. Northfield's Frog Rock is a first-rate effort that delivers a gorgeous lemon-cream aroma, followed by ripe yellow fruits, hints of minerality and firm acidity. It finishes on a toasty note, complemented by sweet brown spices."
